This video lesson gives a detailed break down of how to use (and teach) this highly misunderstood tactic. Learn the mechanics, energies, syntax, and timing- with multiple applications. You will notice that each Strike (and therefore block) is not exactly the same… most of the variances of the block & pull angles length & timing is dictated by the energies recived by the attackers technique before , during & after his strike.
.
Included is a special section on shutting down your opponents counter attempts. Common errors (and remedies) are also discussed.
.
An EXTRA TIP (not mentioned in the video): You will see that I often use a “rotation” (at contact) allowing the opponent’s arm (as it punches forward) to rotate my hand into an almost a “knife hand” position – perpendicular to my opponent’s arm which offers a bit more transition speed, and better snaring action, while retaining the desired adaptability. Try not to Rotate your arm yourself as much as just letting the forward motion of his arm “assist” the rotation of your hand into the crashing position..
